Graphic and Visual Design

Discover A graphic design Program with vision

nescom-gvdvertical.jpeg

Graphic and visual design are everywhere around us. Logos, ads, websites, publications and much more: when you see a graphic creation that is visually striking, chances are that a designer contributed to its development.

That's why graphic designers are always in high demand, and why today's designers need to think beyond the traditional to create engaging visuals for a variety of emerging media. To meet that need, the Graphic and Visual Design program at Husson's New England School of Communications (NESCom) combines art and design with the latest technology to ensure you are prepared to work in a wide range of visual communication fields.

Why Husson

In Husson's Bachelor of Science in Graphic and Visual Design degree program, you'll begin by learning about the foundations of creating designs with impact by taking classes in Art and Design Foundations, Graphic Design, Typography and Digital Illustration. In these courses, you’ll apply design principles to logos, posters, publications, package designs, t-shirts, displays and infographics.

Then you’ll expand your creativity to places you may never have imagined with classes like Design Thinking and Innovation, User Experience Design, 3D Modeling, Animation and Motion Design, Data Visualization and Extended Reality. With specialized software, you’ll design the interface for a mobile app, create an animation for a video and generate a 3D model for virtual reality.

As you work your way through the Graphic and Visual Design program, you will develop skills to work in a variety of design fields. You’ll also put your newly honed design eye and skills to the test working with real-world clients in a number of classes. You might even have the opportunity to work as an art director in Husson’s very own student-run, in-house marketing agency – One Circle Agency.

I’m incredibly grateful for my instructors at NESCom who encouraged me to explore the many facets of visual media and pushed me to grow both creatively and technically! Here I am working on signage for the NCAA Lacrosse Championships event at Gillette Stadium!"
